Eleta Jones is Associate Director of the Center for Professional Development at the University of Hartford and has worked at the Center for 27 years.  Besides being Associate Director, she is also Director of the Center’s Career Counseling Department and the Director of the Center’s Institute for Leadership & Talent Development.  Eleta manages business development, conducts marketing and public relations efforts, supervises staff and presents programs to corporations, non-profit organizations, state agencies and educational institutions.  She has presented programs on topics such as “Strategies for Career Planning and Job Advancement in Tough Economic Times”, “Developing Employees at Mid-Career” and “Planning Your Post-Career Career: Work/Life Balance After Age 50”. 

   
         
 

In addition to her full-time work at the Center, she teaches Career Management courses in the University of Connecticut’s MBA Program in Hartford and she teaches a Career Counseling course to graduate students getting their Masters degree in Counseling at St. Joseph College.  

     
         
  Eleta received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Guidance and Counseling with an emphasis on Career Development.  She is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Connecticut.  A previous President and Treasurer of the Connecticut Career Counseling & Development Association, in May 2006, she was awarded the “Distinguished Professional of 2006 Award” by the Connecticut Counseling Association.
